Welcome to the 20th year of the Summer Series of Bandstand Concerts

Our concerts are even more popular now than when we launched them in 2006!

And to celebrate 20 Years of Concerts, in 2026 we are hosting three excellent Tribute Bands.

The Story of the Concerts and Bandstand.

In 2004 we held one concert on the shallow plinth in association with the 350th Anniversary of the Wey Navigation. The following year we increased this to 5 concerts. These were so successful that we decided to extend and raise the existing shallow base to Bandstand proportions and erect railings. This was done by the GO Godalming Assn with the help and support of Rotary in Godalming.

So in 2006 GO Godalming launched the 1st series of 19 concerts, from May to September. It soon became obvious that a roof was needed and a Fund Raising Campaign was launched by GO Godalming.
A very generous donation was received from Jill Hurst which allowed us to apply for a lottery grant against “matched funding”. And so in June 2009, our beautiful Bandstand completed and formally opened. This was commemorated with a Celebration Concert. Since 2006 a full series of concerts have been staged every year.

In the event of bad weather concerts can be held in the adjacent St Peter and St Paul’s Church.
